Frequently Asked Questions

Q - What dates are Osea Leisure Park open for?
A - 1st March -30th November each year

Q - What are the Site Fees for 2010 and what do they include?
A - Site fees for the 2010 season are £2,095 and include the plot fee & rates. Electric and water are billed separately (metered), as we don't want you to be paying for someone else's usage.

Q – Why choose Osea Leisure Park?
A – We are family owned and the park has been in the same family since it started in 1933 and is now under the wing of the 4th generation of daughters.

Our site fees are extremely good value for money as we are open for 9 months and are a 4* graded park.

Our policy is to offer you a beautifully landscaped and planted park with green spaces and areas for wildlife.

Most of all we offer CHOICE. Although we only have a few vacant plots at any one time, there is a choice of area on the Park. We also offer choice on which Holiday Home you wish to purchase due to our extensive showground and links to local holiday home suppliers.

We are members of the BH&HPA (The British Holiday & Home Parks Association)  Therefore we are governed by them and run with their code of conduct and licensing which gives our customers a peace of mind.

Q - Are dogs allowed on Osea Leisure Park?
A - Yes. All we ask is that they are kept on leads when out of their plots and supervised at all times. (And cleaned up after, of course!)

Q - Can we bring a holiday home from another park?
A - No, all holiday homes on Osea Leisure Park are purchased through the Main Office.

Q - Are commercial vehicles allowed on the park?
A - No commercial vehicles are not allowed on park, unless otherwise agreed by the Management.

Q - Does Osea Leisure Park hire holiday homes out to the public or cater for touring caravans?
A - All holiday homes on park are privately owned & Osea Leisure Park does not have the services to provide accommodation for touring caravans. Customers being found to rent out their mobile homes are requested to leave Osea Leisure Park immediately.
However we are developing an area purposely for the above. If you require further information please call the office and we will be more than happy to discuss your needs.

Q - What amenities are provided on Osea Leisure Park?
A - A Members Bar is situated next to the Sea Wall with entertainment most weekends ranging from singers, karaoke, and not to mention the recently introduced "Osea's Got Talent Competition" we have a children's play area and many seasonal activities for them such as Easter egg hunts, plenty of green spaces and nature areas; we have the David Bellamy GOLD award for Conservation, a boat park with 24 hr surveillance and boat ramp; not to mention the natural beach and picturesque River Blackwater, which provide perfect swimming opportunities.

Q - Does Osea Leisure Park have an age limit on mobile homes?
A - If the holiday homes are in good condition and well maintained there is NO pressure to upgrade or purchase a new one. Although when a customer decides to sell a holiday home that is over 10 years old, then the holiday home will have to be sold off site which we are more than happy to help with, this is to maintain the quality of the holiday homes at Osea Leisure Park and to prevent new customers being over charged for older holiday homes. (This ruling does not apply to the Lodges.)

Q- I want to buy a caravan but I am worried about committing my hard earned savings?
First of all, do you want to have a lifestyle that few people get to enjoy? If your answer to this question is yes then you are ready to buy. Holiday Parks are a collection of people who value the same ideals as yourself. Your Caravan Holiday Home will be the start of a new lifestyle that will enable you to relax and make the most of your life. It will help you to meet new people and make friends and also find new hobbies. Remember, every person who buys a product of this value goes through the same emotions as yourself, but they are now enjoying a fantastic new lifestyle with years of harmony and relaxation to look forward to. A few hours of doubt are a small price to pay for such a reward. At Osea Leisure Park the only regret our owners have is that they didn't buy their Holiday Home sooner!

Q- I don't retire for a few years, I'm not sure if I would like a Caravan Holiday Home now or if I should wait until I retire so I have a lump sum of capital and more free time?
This is the most common objection that the industry comes across from people in their mid fifties or early sixties. When people retire, they often get a lump sum of capital but their regular income can drop dramatically which leads to a change in their lifestyle, so purchasing a caravan before you retire gives the advantage that you have the opportunity to ease yourself into your new lifestyle and the ability to pay for it while you still have a stable income. When you eventually retire, owning a caravan will be part of everyday life for you and the best advantage is you will get to enjoy it more. Another point to consider is why wait a number of years before you can start enjoying yourself and winding down when you deserve to now?

Q-How can I be sure a Park is as good as it appears without spending lots of time there before I buy?
Ask the Sales Advisor who is showing you around how often present owners upgrade their existing caravans. If owners upgrade regularly throughout the park, it is a sure sign that they are happy there. Many of the holiday home owners who upgrade will have owned a caravan on the park for many years. If you see some owners on a park that you are looking around, don't be afraid to ask them about the park, the information they give you will be first hand as they have already chosen that park. Many of Osea Leisure Park's new owners have come to our park through recommendations.
